Ingredients For This No

Here are the ingredients you will need to make these chocolate peanut butter bars. Make sure to scroll down to the recipe card for the full detailed ingredient measurements.

  • Peanut butter Make sure youre using the creamy kind of peanut butter like Skippy or Jif. The natural kind will not allow the base to be set properly.
  • Chocolate chips Use good quality chocolate or chocolate chips for better tasting bars.
  • Graham crackers- This recipe is super versatile, use graham cracker crumbs but if you dont have them on hand using any other biscuit, think animal crackers, nilla wafers
  • Powdered sugar The powdered sugar will allow for the base to be set and will sweeten it perfectly.
  • Butter You can use either salted or unsalted butter for this recipe.

How To Store This No Bake Dessert

To preserve these chocolate peanut butter bars, store them in an airtight container in the fridge.

However, before you slice them, make sure to let them come to room temperature your life will be much easier this way. After you slice them, you can serve them immediately or store them back in the fridge for about 1 week, but I doubt theyll need that long!

I usually store them in a ziplock bag with all the air sucked out of it! You want to make sure whatever you store them in is airtight!

Ingredients Needed To Make Peanut Butter Bars:

  • Butter: I like salted butter to add a little saltiness to the bars. If you use unsalted butter, then add 1/4 teaspoon salt when you add the peanut butter.
  • Graham Cracker Crumbs: These help give the bars structure.
  • Peanut Butter: I suggest using creamy peanut butter to keep these bars smooth. And I recommend not using a natural peanut butter.
  • Powdered Sugar: The sugar also gives the bars their structure, and keeps them nice and sweet.
  • Chocolate Chips: Because chocolate just goes with peanut butter. Plus it helps the bars hold their shape a bit more.

How Much Does Each Serving Cost

NO BAKE Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars Recipe

Since I am trying to be more mindful of price with the crazy inflation that we are all dealing with somehow, here is a breakdown of this recipe.

  • Powdered sugar $.40

In total, the recipe would cost you about $3.65, making each serving cost about $0.22, which is what I call a win!

These prices are estimates, so your recipe might come to a little more or a little less than my estimates depending on where you live.

Pro Tips For Making This Recipe

  • Youll need to use an 8×8 or 9×9 square dish for nice thick bars.
  • Make sure to line your baking pan or square dish with parchment paper so you can easily remove the bars after chilling.
  • Make sure to use creamy peanut butter such as Jif or Skippy. Oily peanut butter may stop the base from setting and will change the texture.
  • Use a hand whisk to incorporate the butter and peanut butter if you have some persistent lumps.
  • You can use the stovetop or microwave to melt the chocolate. If using a stovetop do this in a bowl over a pot of simmering water.
  • The peanut butter gives the chocolate a creamier texture once set. This really helps when cutting the bars so the chocolate doesnt crack.
  • Make sure to let the bars chill in the fridge for at least 90 minutes before serving. Alternatively, you can make them the night before and let them chill overnight.
  • To cut the bars use a sharp or serrated knife.

No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars

No bake desserts are always easy and dont heat up my kitchen, thats a win-win in my house. That is exactly why these Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars end up on my counter often, theyre so easy!

These bars only take 10 minutes and 5 ingredients to make thats it. There is nothing like a cold, chewy peanut butter bar, layered with rich chocolate, straight from the fridge. I mean look at that picture! Need I say more?

How To Make Layered Peanut Butter Chocolate Brownies

First, well melt half the chocolate and spread it to create the first layer.

Once its firm, stir together the peanut butter layer ingredients then spread it over the chocolat and let that firm up.

Then the other half of the chocolate: melted and spread over the peanut butter. Let the whole thing firm up now.

Make the brownie batter: if youve made any of my brownies before youll note this one is very similar although I reduced the sugar a bit. Its all in a bowl, a few different stages to heat it so the sugar melts a bit.

I love me a shiny top brownie, how can I make sure to get that?

Check out this page that goes into this in more depth. Theres two essential steps:

  • Whisk very well: we want some of the sugar to melt into the butter before it goes into the oven so be very vigorous in your handiwork.
  • Make sure the chocolate for the brownie batter is chopped *very* finely. Those little bits melt and give that flaky, shiny finish.

CHOCOLATE I prefer to use baking chocolate for these bars as its easier to melt in my opinion, however, you can also use chocolate chips. Semi-sweet, dark chocolate, or milk chocolate are all great options.

PEANUT BUTTER I used regular creamy peanut butter for this recipe. I have not tested this recipe with natural peanut butter. In natural peanut butter, the oil separates from the butter itself therefore I am uncertain if the bars will harden completely. Some of my readers have suggested adding extra animal cracker/graham cracker crumbs to help it solidify better if you do take this route.

    No Bake Cheesecake Ingredients

The recipe calls for cream cheese, yogurt or sour cream, pure vanilla extract, sweetener of choice, cornstarch or almond flour, and an optional pie crust.

The yogurt can be anything from plain or Greek yogurt, to vanilla or flavored yogurt. Nondairy yogurt or sour cream works too.

Be sure to use pure vanilla extract, not imitation. You can also add a few drops of peppermint, coconut, or almond extract!

Sweetener of choice can be granulated, like sugar, coconut sugar, or erythritol for a sugar free cheesecake. Or pure maple syrup, honey, or agave also work.

Do The Bars Taste Like Coconut

Better No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars Recipe

This is probably one of your main questions since the recipe uses a good amount of coconut flour.

Coconut flour is not as flavorsome as desiccated coconut because it is made from the leftovers of soaked coconut meat while making coconut milk.

As the coconut meat is soaked, then dried, the coconut flavor is washed off. So, except if you absolutely dislike coconut flavor, you wont taste much coconut in these bars.

    No Bake Cookie Texture

Because these cookies are not baked or cooked, they will not have the same texture as a baked cookie. They are chewy and sweet, with a slightly crumbly texture.

These cookies are not super sweet. Everyone has different levels of sweetness they prefer. If you prefer these cookies to be sweeter, you can reduce the amount of cocoa powder, add more dates or add chocolate chips to the dough.
